Gutters in Indianapolis: what local homeowners should know

Licensing in Indiana

Indiana has no statewide general contractor license, so licensing is local. In Indianapolis, general contractors are licensed by the Department of Business and Neighborhood Services (BNS), which requires business registration, proof of insurance and a bond. Carmel, Fishers and other cities set their own rules.

Timing and winter

Most Indianapolis installers work year-round when weather allows, but the best time for new gutters and guards is late summer to early fall: the system is ready before leaf drop and winter.
